Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 31, 2026  ·  Effective: July 31, 2026

SociBubble is currently operating as a public-facing demo. This policy applies fully during the demo phase, in the same way it will once the service is generally available.

1. Who We Are

SociBubble ("we," "us," or "our") operates the platform at socibubble.com — a connection and event-matching service that uses an interest-based algorithm to facilitate introductions between people at events. This policy applies to anyone who uses SociBubble, whether you have an account (which includes the ability to host events) or you're participating as an event guest without one. We're based in the United States and our servers are located there; if you access SociBubble from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed there.

2. What We Collect

We collect information you give us directly and a small amount of information generated by using the service:

  • Account information — email address, display name, password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text), and subscription/plan status
  • Optional profile details — social links, phone number, or avatar, only if you choose to add them
  • Payment information — handled entirely by our payment processor; we never see or store your card number or bank details
  • Event and matching data — interest survey responses, the archetype label our algorithm assigns you, and records of who you were grouped with
  • Basic technical data — login timestamps and session tokens, used for security and to keep you logged in

We do not collect government ID numbers, biometric data, precise location, or sensitive categories such as health, religion, or sexual orientation. Our interest surveys are designed to avoid these categories.

3. How We Use It

  • Running the core service — accounts, events, and matching
  • Security and fraud prevention
  • Billing and subscription management
  • Sending you emails related to your account (such as verification codes, receipts, and password resets), and occasionally other information about the service. Every commercial email we send includes a way to unsubscribe.
  • Understanding aggregate feature usage to improve the product
  • Meeting our legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Our Matching Algorithm

SociBubble's core feature is an automated matching algorithm. When you complete an interest survey as a guest, the algorithm scores your responses across dozens of interest dimensions to find compatibility with other guests, assigns you an archetype label, and places you into a connection group. We keep a record of which events you've attended, which groups you were placed in, and your archetype results for operational and record-keeping purposes. Archetype results are only visible to other guests or the host if the host's plan includes that feature.

5. How We Share Information

We don't sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers who help us run the platform — for example, a payment processor, an email delivery provider, and cloud hosting/backup providers. Each only receives the data needed to do its job, and none may use it for their own purposes.
  • Contact/signup form submissions — collected via a third-party form provider, subject to that provider's privacy policy, and retained in our internal records.
  • Other event participants — archetype results and shared contact details are visible to other guests or the host only when the host's plan includes that feature.
  • Legal or safety reasons — if required by law, court order, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.
  • A future buyer — if SociBubble is acquired or merges with another company, we'll notify you before your data becomes subject to a different policy.

6. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service. Session tokens and verification codes expire automatically within days or minutes. Guest data from an event is retained briefly afterward in case of disputes, then deleted. Payment records are kept as long as required by financial regulations. When you delete your account, we remove your data from active systems within a reasonable period, aside from anything we're legally required to retain.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls that limit who can see your data. If you become aware of a security issue, please contact us immediately at [email protected].

8. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies to keep you logged in and to maintain your session during an event.

9. Your Rights (California / CCPA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you specific rights regarding your personal information:

  • Right to know — you can ask what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we have shared it with.
  • Right to delete — you can ask us to delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions required by law.
  • Right to correct — you can ask us to fix inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share your personal information. There is nothing to opt out of, but we state this explicitly so there is no ambiguity.
  • Right to non-discrimination — we will not treat you differently or penalize you for exercising any of these rights.
  • Right regarding automated decision-making — you have the right to opt out of our interest-matching algorithm. To do so, contact us at [email protected]. Note that opting out means you will not be matched during events.

To submit a request, email [email protected] with the subject line "California Privacy Request." We will verify your identity and respond within 45 days.

10. Your Rights (All Users)

  • Access and update your profile at any time through account settings
  • Delete your account by emailing [email protected]
  • Remove optional data (social links, avatar, phone number) directly from your profile
  • Request a copy of your data

11. Children's Privacy

SociBubble is not directed to children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with information, please contact us at [email protected].

12. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and post the revised policy on this page before the changes take effect. We encourage you to check back periodically. Continuing to use SociBubble after that date means you accept the update; if you disagree, you can delete your account beforehand.
